Lorde is reportedly back in the studio after taking a short break and is now has her full attention on the new album, as it is expected to come out in 2016.
A recent report from New Zealand Herald revealed that Lorde went back in the studio to complete her new album.
According to the source, it was all work and no play for Lorde on her 19th birthday, as she went returned in the studio to finish her work.
She posted in her Twitter account on Nov. 7, calling it a "studio birthday."
"It's been a studio birthday so far you'll be happy to know," she said.
Meanwhile, the singer talked about her upcoming release in an interview with BBC and revealed how different the themes and feel the new album would have.
According to Lorde, growing up in the suburbs while writing her songs from "Pure Heroine" is absolutely different from her experiences while living in the city.
"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," the 19-year-old singer said about her new album. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."
"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like,'" Lorde said. "I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."
"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff. You work and at some point you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."
Although it hasn't been officially set, the new album from Lorde is expected to come out in mid 2016.
