AOA singer Seolhyun has been chosen as the female counterpart of top actor Lee Min Ho in becoming the face of Korean tourism in ads and other promotions.
Seolhyun officially accepted her new high-profile role in a ceremony facilitated by the Visit Korea Committee, which leads the effort to promote Korea as an attractive tourist destination worldwide.
The ceremony was held at the Gyeongbok Palace in Seoul, reports The Korea Times.
The choice of Seolhyun to represent Korea in its worldwide tourism campaigns comes as the beautiful young singer and her girl group AOA have skyrocketed in popularity.
Seolhyun has scored many endorsements, magazine covers and even a hit lead turn in the drama Orange Marmalade, which was adapted from the popular vampire webtoon. She has gained fans because of her youthful natural beauty, stunning face and curvaceous body.
Seolhyun's ascent as one of the so-called "it" girls of 2015 was also helped by the growing popularity of her K-Pop girl group AOA.
AOA returned this summer with their third EP Heart Attack, and the group plans to end the year with a bang by holding their first-ever concert in Japan in December. More than 15,000 fans attended an AOA event last month, showing the group's popularity has firmly extended outside Korea.
What do you think of Seolhyun as the face of Korean tourism?
