Gwen Stefani Taking Things Slowly For New Album; Singer Says Record Is For Breakup

Gwen Stefani is prepping up for her new album release next year and in a recent interview, talked about what fans should expect from her upcoming release.

In a report by US Magazine, the "The Voice" judge reportedly told San Diego's 93.3 how she would consider her upcoming release as a breakup playlist.

"I would consider it a breakup record," Gwen Stefani said of her new album. "My cross to bear was to go through these heartbreaks and write songs and help people."

Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani recently talked about her new album with Ryan Seacrest and revealed how the process has been different for her compared to her past releases.

"I've been working on it," Stefani said in the interview. "I feel excited now because when I first started working on it, I was like, 'I'm gonna put it out this year!' I was very kind of rushed about it. Now I feel settled in, I had the baby - he's going to be a year-old, can you believe that?! - I feel like now I'm going to go back in and do some more writing and be a little more relaxed about it."

She revealed how she has been taking things slowly and talked about how she gets inspiration to writing new tracks for her record.

"I decided to slow down a little bit, and now I've got this [live] show I've been working on, which is forcing me to go back and listen to my old songs that I've never listened to in so long," Gwen Stefani said. "But it's been super inspiring, because now it's like I'm in competition with myself, like, "How did I do that? I wish I could do that again."

Although there are no official words regarding the new album, Gwen Stefani is expected to have it out anytime in 2016.
