"Star Wars 7" character Kylo Ren's crossguard lightsaber's technology has been revealed.
An image posted on Reddit shows a display at Disneyland that describes how the Ren's controversial lightsaber works.
"Kylo Ren's unusual lightsaber is an ancient design, although the one he carries is recently constructed," reads the description. "The crossguard blades, or quillons, are raw power vented from the primary central blade."
The unique design has been a hot topic since it debuted in the movie's first trailer.
"It was a number of conversations [that led to the design]," explained Abrams of the lightsaber's design in an interview Collider. "It was a sketch that became a whole thing and, you know, this was not done without a lot of conversation and it's fun to see people have the conversation that we had, but in reverse."
