Katy Perry might star in the upcoming musical based on the film "Clueless," along with Robert Pattinson And FKA Twigs.
"Clueless" director and screenwriter Amy Heckerling reportedly said she wants Perry to star in the "Clueless" Broadway musical that is in pre-production.
The "California Gurls" singer would have to trade her spiral bra for a plaid school uniform, but she will wear it well.
In the 1995 film "Clueless," actress Alicia Silverstone played Cher Horowitz, a spoiled California Gurl. There is no singing in the movie, except Brittany Murphy's performance of Coolio's "Rollin' With My Homies," but the soundtrack for the film was the soundtrack for '90s teens.
"Teenage Dream" singer Katy Perry would encompass the whole bit in a Clueless musical.
Heckerling said the Clueless musical won't just be "karaoke to the movie," but will feature never-before-heard songs. The Broadway show will be directed by Rock of Ages's Kristin Hanggi. Heckerling hopes the musical will open sometime next year.
There are already rumors that Katy Perry will fill key parts with some famous friends.
The New York Daily News reported that Katy and Robert Pattinson such friends. Pattinson and his bride-to-be, FKA Twigs, might be interested in the Clueless musical.
Perry recently announced plans to campaign for Hillary Clinton.
Katy Perry kicked off Dubai International Airport's music campaign in a mesmerizing show to launch the new musicDXB at Atlantis the Palm hotel on Tuesday. Perry gave a rousing version of the Sinatra anthem "New York, New York."
Dubai International Airport will partner with Done Events to "feature performances from global superstars, the hottest emerging international acts and up-and-coming local artists to entertain and engage passengers," according to a statement.
Katy Perry is also part of the new "Part of Me" singer at the GO Campaign's 8th annual GO GO Gala in Beverly Hills on Thursday, Nov. 12.
