'The Flash' Actor Ezra Miller Talks Barry Allen; Says His Version Is 'Flawed' Compared To Grant Gustin

Ezra Miller, the actor set to headline Warner Bros.' "The Flash" in 2018 discusses his version of Barry Allen.

The "The Fault In Our Stars" actor sat down with Enterntainment Weekly and revealed that his version of The Flash will be a more flawed version than his TV counterpart, played by Grant Gustin.

"I'd like for it to be an exploration of a human being, a multi-dimensional human being, to speak. I'd like the character to have many dimensions," he said. "But really, I'd like him to have the usual dimensions we know and love, and then some extra ones that are part of the amazing consideration of this superhero."

"I hope to realize him as a person, and I think what's most exciting for me in superhero mythologies is when we feel the humanity of someone who is heroic - or the heroism of someone who is a flawed, deeply human person."

It seems that the 22-year-old star has no problem with two actors playing the same DC character, as he revealed in a previous interview with MTV News.

"I'm not avoiding it, I'm not avoiding it at all," the 22-year-old replied when asked about what he thinks of CW's "The Flash." "I think it's awesome! And come on - we're 'The Flash.' It's parallel universes. Grant Gustin is The Flash, and I'm The Flash, don't you see? It's the event horizon, we crossed it, baby."

According to Screen Rant, producer Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Dark Shadows) is the Warner Bros.' current choice to helm "The Flash," which would be his first as a director. "The LEGO Movie" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were originally attached to the film, but opted to sign on to Disney's standalone "Han Solo Star Wars Anthology" film.

"The Flash" releases in theaters on March 23, 2018.
