Ruby Rose Playing Main Antagonist In 'John Wick 2'; Peter Stormare Also Added To Cast

"Orange Is The New Black" actress Ruby Rose is rumored to play the main villain in "John Wick 2."

Along with Rose, Deadline Peter Stormare (Arrow, The Blacklist) and Riccardo Scamarcio (Burnt) have also been added to the sequel's cast, joining rapper-turned-actor Common who was previously announced to be one of the movie's baddies.

Screen Rant speculates that Ruby Rose will play the female crime lord, who Common's character is reported to work for.

Reprising their "John Wick" roles are Ian McShane as Winston, John Leguziamo as Aurelio, Bridget Moynahan as Wick's deceased wife, Helen and Lance Riddick as Charon.

Keanu Reeves will of course reprise the titular assassin in the "John Wick 2." He reuites with the first installment's creative team of Chad Stahelski and David Leitch; Stahelski will direct the film with Leitch serving as executive producer along with David Kolstad who provides the film's script.

Little is known about the upcoming movie's narrative, but previous reports have confirmed that it will open up a new chapter in the Continental underworld of professional assassins.

"Chad and the writer, Derek Kolstad, they've really listened to what people have enjoyed about the work and how they speak about it," Reeves said in an interview with Collider. "So there's definitely that influence of the other world, the Continental world, the look, the feel, what it is about the movie, what made people like it; is definitely being paid attention to and the world opens up in this chapter."

The first installment's story follows John Wick, an assassin who comes out of retirement who seeks revenge after his former employer's son mistakenly assaults him, steal his car and kill his dog which was a present from his late wife.

Last year's sleeper hit made $14 million on its opening weekend and eventually made raked in $43 million domestically and almost $80 million globally.

"John Wick 2" is currently filming in New York. Producers have not yet announced an official release date.
