"X-Men: Apocalypse" director Bryan Singer updates on the movie's first trailer.
The "Days of Future Past" helmer took to his Instagram and teased a shot from the preview he's putting together. The image shows Professor X who looks troubled as he uses Cerebro.
In the meantime, fans can find out what to expect from the film from the newly released synopsis of "X-Men Apocalypse" in time with the release of tge trailer.
"Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible," reads the synopsis published by Screen Rant.
"Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign."
"As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming film will conclude the arc that started with 2011's "X-Men: First Class," although many are speculating that it can function as a prequel to the untitled "X-Men" film announced for 2018.
The film stars Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Jennifer Lawrence as Raven Darkholme, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Lucas Till as Havok, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Lana Condor as Jubilee and Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse.
With a new trailer out, "X-Men: Apocalypse" releases on May 6, 2016.
