Dream Theater To Promote New Album In 2016; Announces Tour For Next Year

The new album from Dream Theater is a few weeks away from its release and fans of the group are all excited to hear what the band has in store for their record.

According to a report from Loud Wire, the upcoming record is expected to be called "The Astonishing" and that dates for their road shows may have been hinted after a few photos of tour dates have been revealed.

Meanwhile, Guitarist John Petrucci revealed in an interview with Revolver how the group at Cove City Sounds Studios in New York, which he said was already a familiar place for the group.

"We did the last couple albums there. It's a great spot for us. It's not too far from where I live and it's where the band originated. It's like home away from home for us."

He also claimed how exciting it is for them to write a new album for Dream Theater and how grateful they are to be back in the scene.

"A new album project is like a fresh and inspiring blank canvas and I love that every couple of years you have the opportunity of reinventing, trying something new and starting from scratch."

"But given the history of the band, you do have to take all of that into account and consider what we've done already, what we haven't explored yet and what will not only keep us interested and fired up, but will also keep people who listen to the band excited, as well."

In addition to that, James LaBrie revealed in a Loud Wire report how grateful they are to still be accepted by the fans after all the years, which they claimed why they came up with the new album from Dream Theater.

"It's pretty amazing to be in the kind of industry that we are and to say that we've been around for thirty years and we're still relevant today," LaBrie said. "You know, the fact is that we still feel that we're evolving as a band. We're continuing to grow musically, and we see that our audience and our fan base is continually being cultivated. So, just to be in a situation as that says so much. It's so much to be grateful for."
