The winter 2016 anime series is fast approaching, and as a result, it's time to start marking your calendars with release dates.
Unless of course you prefer to wake up mid-January and suddenly realize you're already three episodes behind in your most anticipated series.
Today, the official "Assassination Classroom" season two January 2016 release date was announced in the latest issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump." The new adventures of Class 3E and Korosensei is now set to premiere on Jan. 7 in Japan. Funimation has not yet confirmed the streaming date for fans outside of Japan.
So far, fans are expressing much excitement for "Assassination Classroom" season two.
"One of the two shows that I'll be watching in the winter. I'm glad it's a great one," said FilthyCasual in an ANN forum.
According to Anime News Network, "Assassination Classroom" season two will mark the return of the staff from season one. The new episodes will be directed by Seiji Kishi with scripts by Makoto Uezu. The characters will be designed by Kazuaki Morita, and animation will be handled by Studio Lerche.
For those not familiar with the "Assassination Classroom" anime series, it is based on Yusei Matsui's original manga series. Funimation, who will stream the series as it airs in Japan, describes the story as follows:
"Forget about homework and pop quizzes. The students of Class 3E have a far more important assignment: kill their teacher before the end of the year! A tentacle-d sensei that moves at Mach 20 is out to conquer the classroom after destroying seventy percent of the moon."
It goes on:
"In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, the murderous monster behind the lectern will teach his students everything he knows about the assassination game. Should some eager beaver prove to be a quick study in killing, he or she will save Earth from extinction - and collect a hefty reward."
