The awards everyone has been waiting for have finally been announced!
The 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards for Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Artist of the Year are some of the most prized titles a K-pop star can hope to achieve. Many artists are entered as nominees into these categories, including boy and girl groups and soloists, making the competition a tough battle of over thirty performers competing for the title.
This year, YG Entertainment's world renowned Big Bang walked away with two of the awards. Their smash summer hit, which has over 83 million views on YouTube and topped charts all over the world for weeks, "Bang Bang Bang" won the group Song of the Year.
Artist of the Year also went to the one and only Big Bang. They are a five-time nominee for Artist of the Year since their debut and have earned the award three times. The last time they received this award was in 2012 after the release of their Alive album.
SM Entertainment's superstar group EXO took the award for Album of the Year with EXODUS. EXO won Album of the Year for three consecutive years, including their 2013 debut full album XOXO and their 2014 EP Overdose. EXODUS has sold over 1.1 million copies since its release.
Congratulations Big Bang and EXO!
