Scott Weiland Had Plans To Reunite With Stone Temple Pilots After Chester Bennington Left

The Stone Temple Pilots recently lost their new vocalist Chester Bennington after he quit the band and turned his full attention to his other band Linkin Park.

In recent turn of events, the original singer of the group, Scott Weiland, was found dead in his tour bus, leaving STP without a singer.

According to a report by Blabbermouth, the 48-year-old singer was spotted lifeless in his band The Wildabouts' tour bus a few minutes before the band is scheduled to go on stage at Medina Entertainment Center in Medina.

The official Facebook page of the former Stone Temple Pilots singer, Scott Weiland, announced the passing of the said singer.

"Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts," the page reported. "At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott's family be respected."

First reports about the singer's death came in from Los Angeles Times, where Weiland's wife Jamie Weiland confirmed the passing of the musician.

"I can't deal with this right now," she said. "It's true."

Close friend and fellow musician Dave Navarro also revealed the announcement of the death of the Stone Temple Pilots singer in his Twitter account.

"Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died," Navarro said. "So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight."

In a recent report by Blabbermouth, Scott Weiland expressed his intentions to reunite with Stone Temple Pilots after he learned the news of Bennington's exit.

"I think it would be beneficial to wait a little while, give it a little bit of time to let some air kind of breathe between all of us before that happens," Weiland said. "Like, you know, a year or something like that."
