'Expendables 4' Movie Release Date And Casting News: After the disappointing box office results of "Expendables 3," the aging action hero franchise might have come to an end. Sylvester Stallone, who won't be in the proposed Rambo: New Blood TV series for Fox, blamed the PG rating for the drop-off, but according to reports, he is not going to make the same mistakes with "Expendables 4." The next installment of the franchise has a release date all set.
Variety reported that the next installment will commence filming next year and will hit the theaters in 2017. 'Expendables 4' will shoot in 2016 and be delivered in 2017, Variety wrote while acknowledign that no director nor cast has been announced yet. The magazine also reported that the movie will maintain its all-action star formula and will be produced on a budget of over $100 million.
"Expendables 4" will also reportedly introduce cast members. Wrestling Inc. wrote that WWE legend, Hulk Hogan is confirmed to join the cast.
"Was talking on the phone with Sly [Stallone] about doing The Expendables 4," Hogan was quoted as saying.
"We're trying to figure out a way to maybe turn me into the most evil man in the world. Y'know, Stallone gave me my first break and he's been a great friend for all these years ... We had a great conversation, talking about the possibilities. Can I still run, can I still jump? Well, not as fast or not as high, but I think Hollywood could find a good stunt man to help me out."
There has been many rumors about the casting, including the additions of Bollywood star Salman Khan and Jackie Chan to go up against villains played by former wrestlers Dwayne Johnson and Hulk Hogan. But both Chan and the Bollywood superhero rejected the offer.
The Christian Post reported that Hogan's character in "The Expendables 4" is going to be world's most evil man.
Earlier reports said Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger will introduce new cast members
