Dave Matthews Band has a new album coming up and the singer revealed that the songs included in the record could be very familiar to their close fans, as they have been playing those songs live for a while now.
The report from Music Mic stated that the singer stated how they have been playing the songs expected on the new album during their shows and revealed the possibility of fans uploading videos of their performances online.
"We've always let people record our music, so probably they'll end up getting some of it anyway if they just tape the shows or we put some live releases out," he explained. "But at some point, we'll have an album that we'll put out for whatever reason people still do that."
In addition to that, the South African-born singer revealed that he already has a handful of songs ready for the new Dave Matthews Band album.
"I go on a lot of tangents, so I've been doing some writing, and I certainly could fill the space of several albums with music that I've made," he said. "But I haven't yet fallen in love with the whole thing. I'm in love with parts of it."
Furthermore, Matthews also talked about the new album from Dave Matthews Band in a Rolling Stone interview, revealing how they have been going in and out of the studio for a while now.
"I've been in the studio trying to get a couple of things ready for the band to go back in, having fun," the singer said. "I'm just trying to come up with something that doesn't sound like the past."
"I think we are unique and a pretty badass band - maybe a little creakier than we once were. We are cursed and blessed with the fact that if you want to see what the band is like and get to know us, then you have to see us live or at least listen."
