’28 Months Later’ Release Date Announcement To Happen Next Year, Says Danny Boyle?

Rumors about a "28 Months Later" release date emerge recently, as director of the series Danny Boyle talks about the possibility of the continuation of the series.

In a recent report by Movie Pilot, director Danny Boyle and producer Alex Garland talked about the possibility of a "28 Months Later" release date announcement as the two work on "Trainspotting 2."

"About two years ago, Danny started collaborating on the potential to make 'Trainspotting 2,' another sequel," quickly shifted his idea for a potential release date of "28 Months Later." In that conversation, an idea for '28 Months' arrived. I had a funny idea. I had a sort of weird idea that popped into my head...I had this thought, and I suggested it to Andrew and Danny, but I also said I don't want to work on it. I don't really want to play a role, and Andrew said, 'Leave it to me.' So he's gone off and is working on it."

While promoting for the "Steve Jobs" movie earlier this year, Boyle revealed that he is all-in for a release date of a "28 Months Later" movie.

"I've got no problem [with 28 Months Later]," Boyle said earlier this year while promoting his other movie, "Steve Jobs." "It's the usual thing, ...it's not about whether people think it's a good idea that you're directing. It's whether you respond to the script or not. It's just like on [Steve Jobs]. I got the script and I went, 'That was amazing. I hope I can add to that somehow and it be even better than just the experience of reading it."

Furthermore, Garland further talked about the future of the series in a different interview, reported by Cinema Blend.

"It's more likely to be 28 Months than 28 Years," he said about the potential release date of "28 Months Later." "28 Years gives you one more place to go. 28 Decades is probably taking the piss."
