"The Last Of Us" game garnered a huge success when it came out for the PS3 and PS4, now a movie is being scheduled to come out but the creators of the game are still contemplating on who to cast for the film.
According to a recent report by Coming Soon, "Game Of Thrones" star Maisie Williams revealed in a statement how she already had a meeting with the creators of the game, hinting her role for the "The Last Of Us" movie.
"I had a lunch a little while ago and we spoke about the possibility of me playing Ellie and that's really exciting and I would absolutely love to," Williams said about the potential "The Last Of Us" movie casting. "They announced at Comic-Con that we had spoken about it, and since then in like every interview people have been asking me about it."
Earlier this year, Williams claimed that she may have locked in the role of the female protagonist, but revealed that there are no scripts or directors set assigned for the movie.
"Honestly I would love to and I think they would love me to play Ellie also, and that's where it is at the moment," she said. "There's no script, no director, it's still very early days for the whole project, but if it all goes ahead soon enough I think, yeah, I would love to."
In a Slash Film report, game creator Neil Druckmann revealed that "The Last Of Us" movie at least has a draft and would be ready for full production anytime soon.
"I just finished a second draft, and we did a table read with a bunch of actors," he said. "Pretty faithful to the game. There are some big changes, but the tone and what the story's trying to say is pretty faithful to the game."
With the role of Ellie almost locked in, rumors reveal that the Joel role for "The Last Of Us" movie is rumored to be handed to Dylan McDermott, Hugh Jackman or Gerard Butler.
