Google Korea Names SM Entertainment's Every Sing Karaoke Best App Of 2015

SM Entertainment's Every Sing Karaoke app has been given the Google Play Best of 2015 award, solidifying its claim as one of the best apps of its kind on Android devices.

The K-Pop karaoke app was chosen based on the number of downloads, user reviews and app quality, among other criteria, reports The Korea Herald.

The app has an average review score of 4.0 stars out of 5 based on more than 30,000 reviews.

More than 17,000 users rated it with a perfect 5.0, praising its large selection of nearly 30,000 K-Pop songs, its game elements and opportunity to audition with SM Entertainment's global search for its next crop of idols.

But critics of the app have been vocal about its lack of English songs, wonky recording system and operational hiccups including slow loading times and bugs. These issues led more than 3,000 fans gave the app the lowest 1 star rating.

SM Entertainment reported that the app is not only critically lauded, but also gaining popularity in countries beyond South Korea, such as in Japan, the United Kingdom, the Philippines and Thailand. After seeing the app's potential, the agency revealed plans to launch a global service of the app in 2016.
