After touring the world to promote their records during the "Songs Of Innocence + Experience Tour," U2 is set to comeback with another new album by next year.
According to a recent report by Entertainment Weekly, Bono confirmed that the band would be working on a new U2 album once they're done with the tour, which finished a few weeks back.
"We're playing out of our skins at the moment," Bono recently said. "It's pathetic it took us 35 years to be the band we've always wanted to be. It's a wild thing to be in it. Our friend, Noel Gallagher, came to a show and said to us, 'You're starting with the encore?'"
In addition to that, the singer also revealed how they have a few songs lined up and noted one song called "Tightrope," which was written by Edge.
"We're well into it," Bono said in the interview about their new album. "Edge just came up with a cracker the other day! It's provisionally titled 'Tightrope.'"
"It's very epic. It's very up. And, you know, that's probably what the experience has taught us: to be fully in the moment and that fun is respected, and joy is not to be let go of."
As to how the band plans to release the new U2 album, a report from Gig Wise revealed the possibility of doing another surprise iTunes release for "Songs Of Experience."
"We haven't figured it out yet, but our intention would be to get it out sometime in the back end of next year," Edge talked to The Belfast Telegraph. "I would not rule out doing something similar with the next record."
Further into the report, the guitarist also talked about "Songs Of Innocence," which caused a huge buzz amongst internet users because of it was forced inside their Apple devices.
"It was an opportunity that will only ever come around once for anybody," he said. "I don't think anyone would want to do it again."
The new album from U2 is expected to come out in late 2016.
