Megadeth To Release New Album In January; Dave Mustaine Talks About The Record

Dave Mustaine and the rest of Megadeth are all excited about their new album release, as the band expects the record to come out by next month.

As stated in an article by Revolver Magazine, Mustaine revealed how the band plans to bring back the original thrash sound the band has been known for into their new album, revealing how they have planned to add a lot of heavy riffs into the new Megadeth album.

"There's a lot of riffing going on in there, that's for damn sure," he said. "There's a lot of solos, a lot of pounding drums and bass. I knew from the start that I wanted to go back to my roots, and I wanted to make a thrash record."

In the same report, the frontman revealed how he wanted to prove to their haters how they are ready to make a comeback back to their old self.

"Over the years we've always said, 'We're going back to our roots,'" he said. "But the naysayers, they just want 'Rust In Peace' 20 times, which is never gonna happen."

"Because I've never written the same song twice. Unlike a lot of other rock and metal bands that, you know, they rely on a set formula, I try and make the songs all different."

As Megadeth prepares for the release of the new album, Mustaine also talked to Loud Wire regarding the "upgraded" sound the band now has with new members such as Angra guitarist Kiko Loureiro and Lamb of God drummer Chris Adler take on the place of former members Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover.

"My expectations are so incredibly high that I don't know that we'll ever have one of those shows, but as far as did it make me happy?" Mustaine said, as they work on the new Megadeth album. "I was completely chuffed."

"In no way is this meant to be offensive to Shawn or Chris, but we've definitely upgraded talent wise, personality wise, friendship wise."
