With "Tekken 7" out, Bandai Namco talks about the potential release date of "Tekken X Street Fighter," which is expected to come out in 2016, several years since they first announced the crossover.
In a recent report by Famitsu, the man behind the game, Katsuhiro Harada, revealed that they still have their eyes set on the game and that it could potentially come out by next year.
Although the last time he was interviewed, he revealed that the game is still far from development but revealed that they have thought about the characters that would be included in the game.
"I've been saying this since before, but the fact of the matter is that we're at a pretty far stage into its development," Harada said. "It might seem like we haven't started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago and we've already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems."
As for the release date of a "Tekken X Street Fighter," he revealed that he would try to make it a surprise for the fans since it was announced for quite some time now and revealing it to the people could potentially ruin the momentum of the game.
"It's very difficult to talk about," he said. "Obviously, I had originally planned to release it much earlier than we're currently looking at."
"People have been talking about the game for such a long time that they aren't going to be surprised if you just release it normally. I don't know if that's what we have planned, but we do plan to have some kind of surprise."
No official words have been released for the release date of "Tekken X Street Fighter" up to now.
