Lorde is back in the studio and working on her new album since November and fans just couldn't wait any longer as to when the singer would release her follow up record to "Pure Heroine."
Lorde confirmed in a New Zealand Herald report that she came back in the studio last November during her birthday, which started the recording of her new album.
"It's been a studio birthday so far you'll be happy to know," she posted in her Tumblr account on her birthday.
As to what should people expect from her record, the "Royals" singer revealed in an interview with BBC the different experiences she had while writing songs for her first release as compared to her song writing process on the new one.
"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," Lorde said about her new album. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."
However, the 19-year-old singer also talked about how they had no idea as to how the new Lorde album would sound like, comparing the first one with the upcoming release.
"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like,'" she added. "I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."
"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff. You work and at some point you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."
