Deftones New Album Coming Out Early Next Year; Members Hint The Record’s Different Sound

Members of the band Deftones revealed that they are done with recording of their new album and that they are just waiting for the record to come out by next year.

Frank Delgado confirmed the release of the record after he was interviewed by NME that the disc would come out in 2016. Although there are no official dates set for the release, fans say that the band could come up with the disc in January.

"It's going to come out in the new year," Delgado said. "We had some dates that were already kind of tentative."

As for the current state of the record, drummer Abe Cunningham revealed in the same report that the new Deftones album is currently being mixed.

"It's being mixed now," Cunningham said. "It started being mixed a couple weeks back. They're actually going tomorrow to go down and listen to mixes and do things."

At the same time, the drummer also revealed that they are in the process of naming songs and searching for the perfect artwork of the disc.

"We're mixing and we still are in the process of album title, artwork, song titles," he said. "We haven't even got there yet, but the music's done."

Meanwhile, Frank Delgado also talked about the new Deftones album in a recent interview, which was reported by Blabbermouth.

He delved into what fans should expect from the sound of the record. He revealed that the sound they have produced is something different for them as well and is something they have been "scared of before."

"This one was different," he said. "This one was a lot of starting and stopping, which I think is something we would've been scared of before."

Although there are no official words regarding the new album of Deftones, release date is scheduled for January and February and that a new song could potentially be released before the year ends.
