Detroit Pistons Trade Rumors: Brandon Jennings On The Move? SVG Clarifies Rumblings

The Detroit Pistons are doing well enough to stay afloat in the much-improved Eastern Conference. The much-improved Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson are leading the charge which led to rumors of injured guard Brandon Jennings being expendable.

Jennings was a vital part of last year's team as they looked promising until he went down with a season-ending injury. This led the team to trade for then-disgruntled Thunder guard Reggie Jackson and their gamble paid off.

Now, having two quality point guard around might force head coach and president Stan Van Gundy to move Jennings, but he said that is not going to happen and his injured point guard is not at all on the trading block.

"We haven't one talk with anybody about him," Van Gundy said via MLive. "I just think that people assume that with Reggie (Jackson) here and the way Brandon played last year, I think people just make that assumption. He's no more or less available than anybody else we have."

The head coach added that they won't talk to anybody about Jennings until he is fully recovered.

"Until he's back on the court and playing, there's nothing to even talk about," Van Gundy said. "My preference is, that when he's fully healthy, he's able to help us. That's my preference. I've even talked to him about a vision going forward where he helps us even beyond this. But right now, we're just trying to get him back."

Van Gundy concluded by saying he loves his core right now and there is no way he is breaking it up soon.

"I think anytime anybody says we're not looking to do anything, they're more than likely lying or not doing their job," Van Gundy said. "We do, we like our group and what we've put together, we have a group we think we can grow together, but to say we're not looking, we wouldn't be doing our job."
