Quentin Tarantino Movies: Director Discusses His Final 2 Films; Talks Possibility Of TV Mini-Series

Director Quentin Tarantino discusses his final two projects and the possibility of making a TV series.

Tarantino, who said that he'd only make 10 films before retiring as a filmmaker, will release "The Hateful Eight" this Christmas - which is also coincidentally the director's eighth film.

According to Screen Rant, the director will take up "a life of writing novels, film criticism and other creative endeavors" once he throws in the towel. Now with only two more Quentin Tarantino movies remaining, the director opens up on his future plans.

During a press junket for "The Hateful Eight" in New York City, the "Kill Bill" helmer revealed what's next on his horizon.

Tarantino, who adapted Elmore Leonard's "Rum Punch" into "Jackie Brown" in 1997 might also adapt the author's "Forty Lashes Less One" for a TV mini-series.

"The third Western could actually be a TV thing. I've owned the rights for a while - I get them and I lose them and then I get them. This piece which I think really demands that I make it which is Elmore Leonard book called 'Forty Lashes Less One.' I actually think if you're going to call yourself a Western director today, you need to do at least three [films]," Tarantino said in a statement published by Indiewire.

The director also mentioned that the next Quentin Tarantino movie could be an "Inglorious Basterds" sequel called "Killer Crow."

"The thing is, the huge stuff that I took out could make its own movie, following a platoon of black troops that were court-martialed and they escape," he said.

Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight," starring Samuel L. Jackson, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell, will be screened in 70mm in 100 theaters across the U.S. beginning Christmas day. Regular digital screening starts Jan. 1, 2016.
