It seems that at least 3,000 fans were able to put past controversies aside to attend a year-end concert from South Korean rapper MC Mong.
"On December 20th at 6PM at the Seoul Co-Ex Hall, MC Mong held an end of year concert titled 'Mongster,'" said the rapper's management agency Dream Entertainment in a statement to the press. "On this day, he met 3,000 fans."
MC Mong (Shin Dong Hyun) sang 25 songs during the show. Starting with the song "Did You Miss Me?" and continuing with other popular hits like "Covered in Love," "Let's Run Away," "My Letter to You," "Ice Cream," "Indian Boy," "I'm Going Crazy" and "Circus," the concert lasted a full two hours.
As a special treat, two guest artists joined MC Mong on stage for collaborations. Balladeer Huh Gak lent his talents to "The Happiest Times of My Life" and Turbo singer Kim Jong Kook sang "Reflections" with the rapper.
After allegations of draft-dodging in 2010, MC Mong went on a four-year hiatus from the music industry and retreated from the public eye until the realease of the album Miss Me or Diss Me in November 2014. This year he also released an EP titled Song for You.
Since his comeback, MC Mong has focused on small scale performances and promotions. It was even revealed that he had personally performed at the weddings of at least two fans in recent months.
"MC Mong finished his second concert in September as well as now, said a Dream Entertainment rep. "From now on, we hope to continue to make room for MC Mong to meet his fans."
Meanwhile, MC Mong is expected to release an album in the first half of 2016.
