Miss Universe Pia Wurzbach Revealed To Be A K-Pop Fan

Following this year's Miss Universe competition going viral after an accident crowning the wrong beauty queen, Miss Universe (formerly Miss Phillipines) Pia Wurztbach captured the attention of millions around the world. Shortly after her crowning, it was discovered that Wurztbach was a fan of K-pop, and the idol group Super Junior in particular.

Tweets from 2009 revealed that Miss Universe 2015 had not only been a fan of Super Junior, but particularly favored member Choi Siwon. Several tweets expressed Wurtzbach's love of Siwon, including ones where she called herself "Mrs. Choi."

Following the news, Siwon posted on Instagram inviting Wurtzbach to the next Super Junior concert that he will attend. He is currently enlisted in the Korean military.

Turbo Reunites For 20th Anniversary

The legendary hip hop group, now a trio, returned last week to the K-pop scene to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The release of their song "Again," along with its music video, was well-received as the group invoked 90's nostalgia. "Again" appeared in the top spots on all Korean music charts.

The comeback included all three three members of Turbo- Kim Jong Kook, Mikey, and Kim Jung Nam- despite the three never promoting formerly altogether in the past. "Again" was released after the success of this year's "Infinite Challenge" special TOTOGA, where Turbo reignited its popularity with a performance.

iKON Makes Comeback With G-Dragon-composed Song

YG Entertainment's newest boy band, iKON, garnered attention this week not only for releasing two new singles ("What's Wrong" and "Dumb & Dumber") but also for working with one of YG Entertainment's most popular artists. G-Dragon of Big Bang gifted iKON the song "I Miss You So Bad," the first time G-Dragon has composed a song for any group other than Big Bang.
