Korean actor and singer Jang Keun Suk will launch a charity foundation in order to further his philanthropic activities.
Known for his generous charitable actions, Jang has helped the less fortunate around Asia, particularly in when natural disasters strike.
Through this charity foundation, Jang hopes to be able to provide more support and supplies to victims of natural disasters throughout Asia.
"[The foundation will] supply blankets to typhoon victims, build schools where they are needed, help financially struggling entertainers," said Jang to Yonhap News.
Jang indicated that the charity foundation is something he has been working towards for nearly 10 years, as a means to "systematize and expand" his charitable activies.
"This year, which is when I turn 30 in Korean age, seemed like the right time to carry out the plan," he added.
"I've received such positive energy from sharing and it's my dream to keep on sharing."
In 2011, Jang donated to the victims of the Fukushima earthquake in Japan and the 2013 Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
Jang also donated 1.2 billion won ($1 million) to his alma mater Hanyang University in Seoul and has regularly volunteered at an orphanage in Seoul with his fans for the past several years.
