FTIsland Guitarist Song Seunghyun Recovering After Surgery For Finger Injury

FTISLAND's guitarist started off the new year with a bit of worrisome news.

The K-pop band's guitarist Song Seunghyun reportedly hurt his hand during the end of December and required surgery. Earlier this week, FTISLAND's agency, FNC Entertainment, revealed that Seunghyun underwent a surgical procedure to repair a fracture in a finger.

Seunghyun will require about a month to recover before being up to his normal standards.

"Seunghyun has hurt his finger," an FNC rep said on Jan. 5. "He will be getting a surgery [Wednesday] for a fracture on a finger on his right hand."

As a guitarist, Seunghyun's right hand is important to his day to day work.

FNC Entertainment did not clarify whether Seunghyun's injury affected upcoming group promotions.

The idol shared pictures of himself post recovery with a cast on his Instagram account, where he apologized for worrying fans.

FTISLAND made a comeback in 2015 with their album "I Will," but have yet to announce a return in 2016.

FTISLAND debuted under FNC Entertainment in 2007. Seunghyun joined FTISLAND in 2009, replacing Oh Won Bin as the guitarist and backup vocalist.
