'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Update: Mr. Robot To Take Advantage Of Golden Globe Wins To Clear Things Up, Kinda

'Mr. Robot' Season 2 Update: "Mr. Robot" from USA Network is getting ready for Season 2. "Mr. Robot" season 1 ended with a cliffhanger showing the audience that Mr. Robot was not in fact Elliot's (Rami Malek) father but was Elliot.

"Mr. Robot" was one of the most nominated TV series at the Golden Globes awards. It was for best drama series and stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater each were nominated. Malek picked up a SAG Awards nomination last week, along with nominations from the Writers Guild for new series.

The show won the Golden Globe awards for best drama and Christian Slater earned a supporting actor award.

The creator of "Mr. Robot" promises more twists for the show's second season, as USA moves to take advantage of two Golden Globe Awards.

Mr. Robot showrunner Sam Esmail appeared at the Television Critics Association's press tour in Pasadena.

"There will be a lot more backstory that will be shown, the timeline will get a little clearer - not 100 percent clear, because where's the fun in that? But a little clearer," Esmail said.

"It really is about Elliott trying to reconcile what this means in seeing Mr. Robot. The series is filling in the blanks of the past and the present of this character ... It's about a guy who becomes aware of this delusion he's been having."

Variety reported that series creator/showrunner Sam Esmail plans to direct all 10 episodes of the show's second season himself.

"Mr. Robot" tells the story of computer hacker Elliot (Rami Malek), who gets involved with ag group of hackers led by Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) who want to bring down tech company E Corp. Mr. Robot, co-stars Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin and Martin Wallström. It was created by Sam Esmail who executive produces with Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton.

According to "Mr. Robot" creator Sam Esmail, the next season will be darker than the first one. Slater will return as Mr. Robot and as Edward Alderson, Elliot's long deceased father. "My prerequisite for hiring these guys was that they were a little off, and not completely stable," Esmail said.
