Maria Sharapova is advancing much further than her ex boyfriend Grigor Dimitrov in Australian Open 2016. There is no sweeter revenge than this for Maria Sharapova!
While Grigor Dimitrov publicly flaunted his new girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger throughout Australian Open 2016, Maria Sharapova has been quietly working on her game. And it looks like she emerged as the clear winner of the breakup at the tournament!
According to BBC, "Defending champion Serena Williams will face Maria Sharapova in the Australian Open quarter-finals after both won their last-16 matches on Sunday. Top seed Williams, who beat Sharapova in last year's final, crushed Margarita Gasparyan 6-2 6-1 in 55 minutes. The 34-year-old American is chasing her 22nd Grand Slam title and seventh in Melbourne."
As for Grigor Dimitrov, he received a blow during the third round of the Australian Open with "Federer, seeded third, dispatched Dimitrov, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, on Friday in the third round of the Australian Open, improving his record against Dimitrov to 5-0," according to New York Times.
The report also noted that "From the beginning of Grigor Dimitrov's career, his stylistic similarities to Roger Federer were obvious. But as he has stagnated over the past 18 months, their differences are becoming more apparent."
Sounds like even his new relationship is not helping him with his dwindling career.
Maria Sharapova used to love hanging out on the beach for New Years when she was with Grigor Dimitrov. But post breakup, she has been throwing herself into work more than ever! Looks like the Russian player is ready to show the world that she will always be a greater tennis player than Grigor Dimitrov.
Seeing how he left her for Nicole Scherzinger, Maria Sharapova is probably eager to show the world that she will always perform better than Grigor Dimitrov.
