Last week, Korean rapper Psy lost one of his YouTube viral records to English singer Adele.
On Thursday, the streaming service announced that Adele's "Hello" broke Psy's record for the fastest song to achieve 1 billion views. Psy's "Gangnam Style" took 158 days to reach the milestone, whereas "Hello" hit the landmark in just 87 days.
"Gangnam Style" is still the most viewed video on YouTube, despite losing its title as the fastest-ever video to reach 1 billion.
The songs by Psy and Adele are two of 17 music videos on YouTube to be viewed over 1 billion times, according to the brand.
Adele and Psy each have two songs amongst the top 30 most viewed videos on YouTube.
According to YouTube, newer music videos, like Katy Perry's "Roar" and Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" achieved 1 billion views faster than older music videos, such as Justin Bieber's "Baby" and Eminem and Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie."
"Hello" broke countless records, including becoming the first song ever to sell over a million digital copies in one week.
Adele released "Hello" on Oct. 23, a single off of her 2015 album "25." Adele wrote the song in collaboration with producer Greg Kurstin.
