Former EXO Member Kris Wu To Appear In Multiple Upcoming Hollywood Movie Projects

After turning heads at Burberry's Fall 2016 menswear show while walking the runway, former EXO member Kris Wu (Wu Yifan) recently announced a whole new slew of Hollywood projects.

Following the news last year that he will appear alongside Cara Delevingne and Ethan Hawke in the Luc Besson directed film "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets," Wu was recently announced for the next part of the "xXx" film series.

On Saturday, director D.J Caruso revealed that Kris and actress Hermione Corfield will be appearing alongside Vin Diesel, Jet Li, Nina Dobrev, Ice Cube, Samuel L. Jackson, and Ruby Rose.

In his tweet, Caruso didn't reveal the roles of either star, and the official Internet Movie Database (imdb) page has yet to be updated with the information.

"xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is the third title of the "xXx" series, which began in 2002 with "xXx." Vin Diesel stars as the title character Xander Cage, an extreme sports athlete-turned-spy.

The latest film has an internationally diverse cast. Along with Li and Wu, martial artists Tony Jaa and Indian actress Deepika Padukone were also recently added to the film.

Kris Wu debuted as a member of the K-pop boy band EXO in 2012, and the leader of the China-focused subgroup EXO-M. In 2014, Wu filed a contract nullification lawsuit against EXO's agency, SM Entertainment. While embroiled in his lawsuit against the K-pop company, Wu has grown his career in China as an actor and variety show star, as well as singer.

"Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" has a United States release date for July 21, 2017, while "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" is also slotted for a 2017 release.
