What do "One Punch Man," "Death Parade," and "Ghost in the Shell" all have in common?
If you guessed that they were anime, that's true, but the connection is actually going to be even better than degrees of Kevin Bacon separation.
Earlier today, the official website for ONE's "Mob Psycho 100" anime began streaming a new teaser trailer featuring the Japanese voice cast and staff for the series. Specifically, it appears that staff from "One Punch Man," "Death Parade," and "Ghost in the Shell" will all be working on the upcoming "Mob Psycho 100" anime adaptation.
So far, fans are responding to the new "Mob Psycho 100" anime trailer with excitement.
"Wow, this looks great. It retains the style of original series' artwork too with some solid staff so far. Can't wait! I expect this to air Fall," said Stark700 in an ANN forum.
The "Mob Psycho 100" anime will be directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa, the director of "Death Parade" with character designs by "One Punch Man" animation director Yoshimichi Kameda. Studio Bones will handle the animation production. Kazuhiro Wakabayashi and Kenji Kawai, who both worked on "Ghost in the Shell" projects will serve as sound director and music composer respectively.
The two Japanese voice cast announcements for "Mob Psycho 100" include Setsuo Ito as Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama and Takahiro Sakurai as Arataka Reigen.
"Mob Psycho 100" is originally a manga series by ONE and is currently being published in Shogakukan's web comic magazine "Ura Sunday." The manga began in 2012 and will release the 11th volume on Dec. 4 via Shogakukan.
Anime News Network describes the story of "Mob Psycho 100" manga series as follows:
"The story revolves around "Mob," a boy who will explode if his emotional capacity reaches 100%. This boy with psychic powers earned his nickname "Mob" because he does not stand out among other people. He keeps his psychic powers bottled up so he can live normally, but if his emotional level reaches 100, something will overwhelm his entire body."
