'My Hero Academia' Anime Release Date Confirmed For April With New Trailer [VIDEO]

The 2016 winter anime season is now approaching its final stretch, so it's time to start getting your watch list for the spring season.

So far it looks like shonen fans are in for another hit series.

The "My Hero Academia" anime release date has finally been confirmed via a new trailer. Available to view below, the trailer previews new members of the Japanese voice cast and confirms the April 3 release date.

Though most fans are excited by the new character designs and Japanese voice cast previews, some are still hoping for a trailer that incorporates more action animation.

"All of the character designs look awesome so far in my opinion. I wish they showed more animated footage, but this still looks great," said Stark700.

Anime News Network reports the following Japanese voice cast members that are previewed in the new trailer:

Aoi Yuki as Tsuyu Asui

Ryou Hirohashi as Minoru Mineta

Marina Inoue as Momo Yaoyorozu

Yoshimasa Hosoya as Fumikage Tokoyami

Tasuku Hatanaka as Denki Kaminari

Toshiki Masuda as Eijiro Kirishima

Yuuki Kaji as Shoto Todoroki

According to Crunchyroll, the "My Hero Academia" anime series will be directed by Kenji Nagasaki. Yousuke Kuroda will handle the scripts for the series and Yoshiko Umakoshi will provide the character designs.

For those who are not familiar with the series, "My Hero Academia" was originally a manga series by Kohei Horikoshi. The series is currently running in Weekly Shonen Jump. Viz Media is simultaneously publishing the chapters and released the first volume of the manga in August 2015.

The story of "My Hero Academia" is described by Viz Media as follows:

"Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn't got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny."
