If you're a fan of "Kiki's Delivery Service" and long for a something similar to the popular Miyazaki film, then the spring 2016 anime season has a special treat for you.
Well, at least we can hope that it's a good series based on the manga.
The "Flying Witch" anime release date has finally been confirmed in a brand new trailer. The trailer, available to view below, also features a first look at main character Makoto and the people in her daily life. "The Flying Witch" anime will premiere in Japan on April 15.
So far, fans in ANN forum are looking forward to the "Flying Witch" anime series based on the mood of the trailer.
"I am digging the atmosphere and setting. The visuals look pretty good for a J.C. Staff show. I hope I like this series, and I would like for Sentai to pick it up," said Angelmcazares.
Though no North American companies have jumped to get the "Flying Witch" anime yet, most of the Japanese voice cast and staff have been announced.
The "Flying Witch" anime will be directed by Katsushi Sakurabi with series scripts by Deko Akao. Masato Yasuno is designing the characters and J.C. Staff is in charge of the animation production.
Anime News Network reports that Minami Shinoda will voice the character of Makota Kowata, Eri Suzuki will voice the character of Chinatsu Kuramoto, and Shinsuke Sugawara will voice the character of Kei Kuramoto.
For those not familiar with the "Flying Witch" anime series, it is based on the original manga by Chihiro Ishizuka that was launched in 2012. Kodansha published the third volume of the manga in April 2015, with the fourth volume set for release on April 18, just in time for the premiere of the anime.
ANN provides the following storyline for the "Flying Witch" manga series:
"The comical story follows the 15-year-old witch Makoto Kowata and the other boys and girls in her daily life. With her black cat Chito, the somewhat aimless girl moved from Yokohama to live with her second cousin at Aomori in verdant northern Japan."
