Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2016: Gigi Hadid Heats Up The Beach in New Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2016: Gigi Hadid is hypnotic on the beach. Gigi Hadid squeezed into a tiny bikini for Sports Illustrated. Gigi Hadid has been the focus of New York Fashion Week and the new Sports Illustrated swimsuit model edition. Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are being called the Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer of 2016.

The girlfriend of Zayn Malik wears a floral garland and not much else for Sports Illustrated magazine's swimsuit issue.

Gigi Hadid looks stunning in the new 'Sports Illustrated' Swimsuit issue.

"For Sports Illustrated - it's one that I don't necessarily buckle down for," Hadid said in a statement.

"Well, I box all the time and take care of my body, but Sports Illustrated is one that wants you to have curves, wants you to be yourself. They don't ask you to change, obviously.

"On this carpet tonight, you will see a lot of different body types and it is a [Sports Illustrated] issue that celebrates everyone. That is what is really nice. You just go how you are. Maybe get a little tan if you have some time off the day before at your tropical location. But, besides that, they make you feel beautiful for who you are."

The full cast of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2016 models includes: Nina Agdal, Lily Aldridge, Rose Bertram, Kate Bock, Hailey Clauson, Hannah Davis, Emily DiDonato, Hannah Ferguson, Ashley Graham, Gigi Hadid, Erin Heatherton, Samantha Hoopes, Chanel Iman, Bo Krsmanovic, Robyn Lawley, Tanya Mityushina, Barbara Palvin, Sofia Resing, Kelly Rohrbach, Ronda Rousey, Irina Shayk, Chrissy Teigen, Lindsey Vonn and Caroline Wozniacki.

The issue boasts an extraordinarily diverse cast of models that includes accomplished authors, advocates, actors, world champion and Olympic athletes. They represent some of the most powerful brands (including themselves) in the world, and the group includes five returning cover models -- including one, Irina Shayk, who is celebrating a decade shooting with SI - and five "rookies" making their first ever Sports Illustrated Swimsuit appearance.
