The headphone prototype released by Sony is making a buzz online because of its futuristic design. Well apart from that, it is said Sony's N headphone doesn't have to touch anyone's ears to function, users only have to wear it around their neck.
Dubbed as "Concept N," the Bluetooth powered device uses multi-directional speakers which enables it to still be used as the ordinary headphones users have known for the past years.
According to The Verge, the idea behind the "N" headphones originated from the need to retain background noise despite wearing such devices.
In the same article, it mentioned that despite the development, the tech giant is not totally ditching the traditional headphones with its new technology, as they will still include in the package a pair of cone-shaped ear pieces which can communicate with the headband.
The report also mentioned about an inclusion of a voice control feature and a camera, which they programmed to respond to commands with the name "Arc." The report also noted that the device's directional sound was low enough for users to recognized background noise while wearing it. But its voice control did not function well during trial.
Future Labs, Sony's R&D arm will be featuring the "Concept N" in the upcoming SWSX happening in Austin, Texas. Sony's agenda is to introduce these prototypes to public while they are still at their development stage to get a pool of consumers' feedback on what areas they can still improve with their devices, Jobs and Hire stated.
Despite the upcoming introduction, Sony reiterated these are just prototypes and it would take some time for them to launch the futuristic devices, IB Times reported.
As of the moment, finalization Sony's upcoming pool of devices is still at the verge of improvement and development. Whatever is introduced in the conference will probably undergo a lot of changes before release.
