‘Justice League’ Movie Script Finished; Writer Talks About Film And ‘Batman V Superman’

"Justice League" movie writer Chris Terrio has finished writing the script for the DC film.

In an interview with WSJ, Terrio talked about the "Justice League" movie as well as how it connects to "Batman v Superman." The writer also shared how Christopher Nolan served as one of his inspirations.

"The ones that intrigued me the most were the [Christopher] Nolan's films," Terrio admitted. "They were ways of asking interesting questions in a genre form."

"Nolan helped establish a space in which super-hero movies can be taken more seriously. We thought a lot about those films, to a point where I had to stop watching 'The Dark Knight' because I found I was rewriting it."

The "Justice League" movie writer shared his thoughts on the conflict between Batman and Superman. Terrio even compared them to Roman gods Pluto and Apollo.

"In superhero stories, Batman is Pluto, god of the underworld, and Superman is Apollo, god of the sky," the "Justice League" movie writer said.

"That began to be really interesting to me - that their conflict is not just due to manipulation, but their very existence. In the end, there's a common humanity which I think is discovered at a certain moment in the film."

According to Telegraph, the "Batman v Superman" movie is said to be "the greatest gladiator match in the history of the world."

Apparently, Chris Terrio initially thought that he was not the right guy to write the "Justice League" movie. However, when he saw Jesse Eisenberg, who portrays Lex Luthor, he knew that he had to take the project.

"I saw Jesse [Eisenberg] in a scene with Holly Hunter and I really did feel like I was watching some strange, great performance in an independent film," he admitted.

"At that moment, I thought, 'I'm not done with this yet. I want to go back and keep telling the story.'"

The first part of the "Justice League" movie is slated for release on Nov. 17, 2017.
