‘Hunter X Hunter’ Manga To Be Continued This Apr. 2016!

The "Hunter x Hunter" manga series will be continued this year. It will reportedly be published this Apr. 2016.

According to Kotaku, the "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation will finally push through this 2016. Creator Yoshihiro Togashi is set to return.

Plus, Shonen Jump's teaser site has also tagged the manga as "serialization resuming" and "Finally, movement commences!" The teaser mentioned the Dark Continent arc.

"Hunter x Hunter" was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since Mar. 1998. As of Dec. 2012, there have been 340 chapters collected into 32 volumes by Shueisha.

HNGN reported that more details on the "Hunter x Hunter" manga series for 2016 will be announced in the 16th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The issue has been published on Saturday, Mar. 19.

The news marked the end of the manga's hiatus. This will definitely come as a relief to fans who have been frustrated with "Hunter x Hunter's" frequent breaks.

Series creator Yoshihiro Togashi suffered from serious back pain in Aug. 2014 which led him to taking a break to recuperate. The publication noted that the hiatus, which was only supposed to be for two weeks, has been extended until this year.

Anime News Network noted that the "Hunter x Hunter" manga series is slated for release by Apr. 18, 2016. It was also confirmed that the series will resume with the Dark Continent arc.

Last year, in a report by YHM, BookOff and other Japanese bookstores have sold the 32 volumes of the "Hunter x Hunter" manga series as a complete set for around 7,000 yen, or about $60. Japanese fans reacted with resignation while others protested the decision.

The "Hunter x Hunter" manga series resumed last Jun. 2014 after going on a hiatus of two years, from Mar. 2012 to May 2014. It was put on hold for a while in Jul. 2014. This was prior to the August announcement from Togashi. Its most recent manga volume was published in Dec. 2012.
