AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" has become the filler companion for "The Walking Dead" fans. But even though it's just a spin-off of a massively popular TV series, it also held on its own after seven episodes of season one. The second season is coming and it's going to continue the story right from where it left: on a yacht, heading for the sea. According to Vulture, "The new season also introduces a new character: the deep blue sea, as the survivors attempt to escape zombie-infested territory by boat, where they learn that if there is anything more fear-inducing than the great unknown, it is in fact zombies."
The upcoming season will also introduce a curious fact about zombies: their ability to "walk" on water. Since the setting will be the sea and there will definitely be zombies, it is possible that the zombies could head out to water if they can't find any flesh to feast on. As reported by Inquisitr, "Rather than swimming, it turns out that walkers can float and wade through the water. Since they don't actually breathe oxygen, they don't drown and instead, they just kind of bob up and down in the water but it doesn't kill them."
But Travis and the gang are not the only characters in the upcoming season. The latest Variety interview with show runner David Erickson reveals that more characters are coming - and they are not zombies, "The good thing about The Abigail is that as a boat, it's a vessel we can live on for quite some time, which has its advantages but is also something that others might potentially envy. And what we will learn is we weren't the only people with the bright idea to go to the water." Will the group deal with pirates and other yachts in the next season?
According to AMC's official website, "Fear the Walking Dead" returns on April 10.
