Conor McGregor Next Fight: New Details Suggest Featherweight Champ Going Up To 170!

Conor McGregor has been avoiding the spotlight for some time following his loss against Nate Diaz in UFC 196. After stepping in for the injured Rafael dos Anjos, Diaz shocked everyone when he made Conor tap to submission.

According to Mirror's transcript of Conor's interview after the fight, the UFC featherweight champ said, "he was efficient - I wasn't - that was it...I feel I hit too much arms but these things happen. I'll learn, I'll grow. I took a chance going up weight and it didn't work out."

But the saga of McGregor and Nate Diaz does not end with huge disappointment for the fans of the Irish fighter. Although McGregor is taking his time, he is reportedly going to be in the octagon once again in a bid to revenge his loss.

According to Bleacher Report, "Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz's much-rumored rematch at UFC 200 on July 9 appears set to go ahead after a report contracts have already been issued to both fighters."

Reactions have been mixed since the rumor of the upcoming rematch. Rafael dos Anjos on his twitter account said, "McGregor vs Diaz 2 make no sense, I would beat theses 2 guys on the same night." Fox Sports also reports that Diaz may be fine with a rematch but has a different opinion, "Diaz understands why McGregor wants a rematch, but he thinks it is a bit comical that the superstar appears close to being granted his wish."

The Irish Examiner also provided the details of the upcoming fight. Instead of the previously agreed 155 pounds, McGregor will face Diaz at 170 which should be very interesting since Conor would have to bulk up for the rematch.

He would also face Nate Diaz with a full training camp instead of a quick notice that limited his ability to prepare. If UFC 200 is confirmed for both fighters, the upcoming major event of UFC would feature some of the best fighters in the sport.
