‘One Piece Film Gold’ Plot; Akainu Attacking Gran Tesoro With Straw Hat? Get The Latest Details Here!

The highly anticipated "One Piece" movie recently unveiled another teaser trailer. Titled, "One Piece Film Gold," the latest trailer now provides a clearer image of the independent casino recognized by the world government as an independent country. As it reveals the image of the city, the main antagonist of the upcoming film along with the supporting characters has been revealed.

It's already known that Luffy and the gang will be up against the leader of Gran Tesoro. Anime News Network recently unveiled the original character's name and background, "Gild Tesoro, a casino king who controls the huge golden ship Gran Tesoro. He is a devil fruit user who ate the 'Gol Gol fruit.' He is an extremely rich man who is said to possess 20% of the monetary 'Beli' that exist in the world."

Aside from Gild Tesoro, other original minor characters are posted. The upcoming film will also feature original characters named Carina (singer), Dice (casino dealer), Baccarat (escort) and Mr. Tanaka (security). Of the four minor characters, Carina is the only one who doesn't have a special ability or a fruit user.

The trailer posted on Youtube also has a very interesting addition: Akainu. Formally known as Sakazuki, Akainu could be the "wild card" in the upcoming film. It is already expected that Luffy will have to face Gild Tesoro in order to save his friends from tentacle monster in gold, but Akainu's presence definitely changes how the battle develops. In the trailer, Akainu doesn't do much except sit on a dark room on his desk with his signature hat on. However, he could be in the film because he could be looking for Luffy or even has his own agenda in targeting Gild Tesoro and ultimately destroying the independent casino nation.

According to Crunchyroll, the upcoming film will be backed by well-known persons attached to the anime series, "'One Piece Film Gold' directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto (TV anime series director for the 352nd to 679th episodes) hits Japanese theaters July 23. The manga author Oda also serves as the executive producer."
