‘Hunter X Hunter’ Manga News: Fans No Longer Excited For Series’ Continuation?

Recent "Hunter x Hunter" manga news has revealed that the series' continuation garnered mixed reactions from fans.

Crunchyroll reported that Viz' Shonen Jump magazine has teased the manga series' return earlier this month. The "Hunter x Hunter" manga's return has been confirmed for Apr. 18.

The series' total print run has reached 66 million copies, with 32 tankobon volumes.

According to The Bitbag, fans seem to be no longer be excited for the return of the "Hunter x Hunter" manga after all those years of waiting. There is not much hysteria about the series' continuation and this doesn't seem to bode well for Togashi.

"Exactly my thoughts this isn't even news [sic]," Redditor YouAreDeadHS wrote.

However, there are of course some fans who are thrilled with the announcement. "Hey! We're all excited here, all news is good news in my opinion," Reddit user icebrotha commented.

RocketNews24 noted that 2015 was "a disappointing year" for fans since not a single manga was published that year. The absence marked the end of Yoshihiro Togashi's 25-year record of being able to publish at least one manga per year.

In a report by Anime News Network, it was revealed that the "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation will be released on the digital edition of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The new monthly "Naruto" manga spin-off series "Boruto" and its "Naruto" one-shot will also be published with the magazine.

Viz has announced that the three manga will run in Japan in the coming months. The "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation will be available on Apr. 18 while the "Naruto" one-shot will be printed on Apr. 25. The "Boruto" spin-off series will be launched on May 9.

It was also revealed that Erika Harlacher will play Kurapika in the English dub of the 2011 to 2014 "Hunter x Hunter" anime. Other confirmed cast includes Cristina Vee as Killua Zoldyck, Matthew Mercer as Leorio and Keith Silverstein as Hisoka.

JobsNHire reported that the "Hunter x Hunter" manga continuation this 2016 will pick up with the Dark Continent arc. Creator Yoshihiro Togashi is also set to finally return.
