Golden State Warriors Trade Rumors: Harrison Barnes To Be Part Of Sign And Trade Deal This Summer?

The Golden State Warriors are on their way to breaking the 95-96 Chicago Bulls record of 72-10. Should they win this year's title, it would be very interesting to see if they can retain their core.

Forward Harrison Barnes will be a restricted free agent this off-season and teams are expected to go after his services. Last off-season, Barnes rejected a four-year offer that will pay him $18 million per season, same with teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, CSN Bay Area reported.

However, Barnes is not performing to the level he expects to be compensated. But his teammate Andrew Bogut said he shouldn't be worried about that.

"Somebody's going to give him the max," Bogut said. "Let's be honest: Someone's going to give him close to the max. There's always a small-market team that would love a guy like Harrison as their No. 1 or No. 2 option."

"So I don't think it's going to have any bearing on his financial future," he added.

Also, he believes that Barnes statistical shortcomings will be ignored since their team is winning and everybody is sacrificing for the sake of the team.

"I don't buy into all of that," Bogut said. "We're winning, a lot of guys are sacrificing numbers and minutes and roles on this team. And that's why we're a great team. Harrison's had great games. He's had bad games, just like everybody else on this roster. So I don't anticipate it affecting his contract situation."

The Warriors would be over the luxury tax should they re-sign Barnes. Will this force them to do a sign-and-trade to another team? Stay tuned.
