The latest chapter continues the tournament of various warriors which includes some of the members of the group. The manga currently focuses on Hawk and Escanor versus Jericho and Gowther. Before any predictions and spoilers, here is a brief recap of the events.

Jericho is at odds with Gowther with regards to the purpose of joining the tournament. Even with the possibility of killing his comrades, Gowther wants to have a real heart - an ability to feel once again. On the other hand, Escanor asked to be disqualified or declared a loser by default because he was not there to fight. Melodias was unable to offer any form of assistance.

Jericho is growing impatient with Gowther's reasoning that he opted to attack is partner. Gowther blocked the attack and retaliates. Hawk, sensing the advantage, also begins his attack. However, Gowther easily caught him and throws him to the ground. Escanor doesn't want to fight but Gowther pulls him telepathically. He places his hand in Escanor's head to present to him is past where he was forced to run away from his family, his first meeting with Merlin and Melodias as well as his failure in what he feels for Merlin.

But after the revelation, Escanor sees the nightmare in a different perspective and he has physically transformed that could fight Gowther.

The upcoming chapter will definitely feature Escanor's power and user ange_blue of My Anime List forum expects him to win but lose in the next round," Escanor is expected to win, because it is his nature to surpass all (as he proves here), but it seems too early even if the 'Day' effect may be temporary. Escanor 'low' again and he loses the next round." On the other hand, Escanor's win could just be more than just talent as it also has some element of luck. According to user Handsome Yak of Naruto Forums, "Gowther invaded easily, manipulated him with the nightmare. He just lucked out because he didn't know he would awaken Escanor's other personality."
