News that a Drake, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar collaboration being highly possible have been going on for several months already. But just recently, a report broke that it won't be happening any time soon due to J. Cole's jam-packed schedule.
The report is particular to Cole and Lamar's collaboration, pointing out the reason for the delay is due to the busy schedule of the former.
In a report by Bit Bag, it revealed that Lamar is not working on any new album right now and Cole is already busy doing a musical tour. The singer-rapper is said to be performing in Johannesburg on June 18 at the Ticket Pro Dome.
"We are extremely excited to be bringing a performer of J Cole's standing to the country this coming June. J Cole is a progressive artist, and we feel that unlocking him in South Africa will create an unforgettable music experience for Castle Lite fans," said Vaughan Croeser, Marketing Manager of Castle Lite.
Though Kendrick was reportedly not making any new album, Ecumenical News reported that the artist will likely be doing a collaboration with Drake.
For many instances, Kendrick Lamar has earned several praises and compliments from several artists believing in the rapper's talent. Royce Da 5'9" even said:
"Kendrick Lamar is the exception to every rule in hip-hop. He sits in that very successful MC space by himself but he takes that hit. He doesn't sell the same number of records as Drake does. He may have to take that hit in sales to get the Grammy's and receive the creative accolades."
Though there were speculations that Cole and Lamar already recorded a few tracks for their rumored collaboration, fans should expect that it may not be released anytime soon.
