Now that it's confirmed, Lebron James starring in "Space Jam 2" with "Fast & Furious 6" director Justin Lin at the helm, it's time to gather the all-star NBA cast forming Lebron's team.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Justin Lin, Andrew Dodge and Alfredo Botello are already penning the script for the follow-up to the 1996 original Michael Jordan-starring film. The report added that Lin committed to be involved with the entire creative process for "Space Jam 2" and will be producing the film via his Perfect Storm Entertainment.
Those who are familiar with the 1996 highest-grossing basketball film would know that Michael Jordan did not do it alone as he also had a team of NBA stars in his team. Hence the question would be who among the big names in NBA today will be part of Lebron James' intergalactic team?
Forbes, in its report, said that there is a slim chance that the Golden State Warriors ace player Stephen Curry is also considered for "Space Jam2," because according to them, putting the reigning MVP in the film will overshadow Lebron James.
The report added that while Jeremy Lin has lost all the hype since Linsanity New York takeover, he remains to be a cultural icon in NBA. Forbes highlighted the international appeal of Jeremy Lin that is impossible to ignore and especially that China and other parts of Asia are major contributors to the global box office. And with Justin Lin at the helm, the "J-Lin to J-Lin connection" cannot be underscored.
Another one named by the report is Anthony Davis who would make a great pairing with James Harden as "The Brow" and "The Beard," respectively. Together, they could be the new Bogues-Bradley pairing.
Other possible NBA stars named for "Space Jam 2" are Kristaps Porzingis, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Kevin Love, among others.
