Viewers of "How To Get Away With Murder" may have been surprised over the latest twist about Annalise Keating and Wes Gibbins' backstory as revealed in last Thursday's episode of the Shonda Rhimes thriller drama.
Did Annalise Keating cover up Wes Gibbins' psychotic crime back when he was a kid?
The latest episode of "How To Get Away With Murder"showed Wes Gibbins (Alfred Enoch) and Laurel Castillo (Karla Souza) going to Cleveland to investigate about the death of Gibbins' mother, Rose.
"Wes draws a startling conclusion before they get all the facts. He decides that Rose's suicide was actually a murder,"Entertainment Weekly reported.
"Wes concludes that Annalise dragging Rose into the case got her killed and that everything in his life afterward - getting into law school last minute off the waitlist, being added to Annalise's team as an unprecedented fifth wheel, being overly protected throughout the duo's murder spree - is a result of Annalise's guilt."
However, it was later revealed that there could be more to Keating's motives than what was on the surface.
"In Cleveland, Laurel hid a page from Rose's police report," ABC.go.com wrote in a recap. " The report lists Wes as a possible suspect in his mother's homicide. Laurel needs an answer from Annalise (Viola Davis) to see if she knows if Wes killed his mother."
Flashbacks during the episode showed Rose snapping at a young Wes after he insisted on watching television despite his mother telling him to go to bed. Another flashback showed Wes holding a knife in front of Rose's body on the floor, cut in the neck and bathing in blood.
Wes Gibbins originally thought that Annalise Keating could have had something to do with a possible foul play in Rose's contested suicide. But was the lawyer merely protecting her student from learning about his terrible past?
Is the title "How To Get Away With Murder" really about a young and psychologically disturbed Wes Gibbins "getting away" with the "murder" of his own mother?
Fans await more revelations about Annalise Keating and Wes Gibbins' past on the next episode of "How To Get Away With Murder" to be aired on Thursday, March 3.
