Following reports that Tom Hiddleston will only appear as cameo in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok" film, the 34-year-old English actor now revealed that he was supposed to appear in "Avengers: Age of Ultron" until the scene was cut.
Apparently, Tom Hiddleston's Loki should have been included in the final cut of the hit superhero film when Marvel boss Kevin Feige and director Joss Whedon decided to remove his scene.
Talking to Digital Spy, the actor explained the details.
"I was part of the dream sequence for the character of Thor, and I shot for a day, enjoyed it very much," he explained of his supposed appearance in "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
"Then I received a phone call from Kevin Feige, actually Joss emailed me, basically Kevin said that in test screenings audiences had over-emphasized Loki's role. So they thought that because I was in it I was controlling Ultron, and that it was imbalancing people's expectations. So Joss and Kevin were like 'Let's cut it because it's confusing people.'"
Now his fate as Loki has fans curious, wondering as how his character would play out in the upcoming "Thor: Ragnarok."
According to Kpopstarz, there's a good chance that Tom Hiddleston could only appear as cameo in the upcoming movie.
Basing on his former interview with Coming Soon, Hiddleston admitted that he still has no knowledge about Loki's future in "Thor: Ragnarok."
"I don't know," Tom Hiddleston told Coming Soon.
"I think I won't be able to help it if I ever play him again, and I just don't know when that's gonna happen, if that's gonna happen. I would never lose his dimension, but it's so interesting. I've talked with Chris Hemsworth, how those characters have changed as we've changed. It's five years ago since I played him for the first time. That's a long time ago. So who knows what I'll be cooking up."
Apparently, he's not certain if fans would still want to see Loki in the future Marvel films or not.
"I never quite know whether people want to see him again or whether people want to move on," Hiddleston explained.
"I can't really take the temperature on it. It's so difficult, because if it did happen again, I would try not to repeat myself. I would try to do something new."
As for Cinema Blend the ending of "Thor: The Dark World" played a significant role in determining the fate of Tome Hiddleston's Loki in "Thor: Ragnarok."
"I honestly don't think fans should prepare to see Loki return to central villain form in Thor: Ragnarok," the publication explained. "Instead, he'll probably be back in a strong supporting position while the role of 'Big Bad' gets handed off to none other than Josh Brolin's Thanos."
"Thor 3: Ragnarok" release date is set on July 28, 2017.
