Amid Divorce Ben Affleck All Set To Star And Direct 'The Batman' Movie After 'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice?'

Ben Affleck 10-year-long marriage to Jennifer Garner has been hit with divorce drama after the couple officially announced their split through a joint statement.

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the couple said of their marriage according to Vanity Fair. "We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

And while the 42-year-old Hollywood actor is busy ironing out his personal issues at home, he is reportedly also very pre-occupied with his acting and directing career.

Affleck, who signed on to become the new Batman for Warner Bros. "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice," is reportedly also going to direct the upcoming standalone film titled "The Batman," Latino-Review claimed.

"Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" writer Chris Terrio will pen the script for the upcoming "The Batman" movie.

The publication added that the film is scheduled for a November 2018 release.

While nothing has been finalized yet, "The Batman" is going up against Marvel's "Captain Marvel" movie if all is polished.

In line with "The Batman" news, IB Times claimed that the upcoming standalone movie is going to link DC Cinematic Universe.

"It's safe to assume that the film's plot might be strongly linked to the overall DC Cinematic Universe, unless the makers decide to set the story in a different time period," the publication reported.

In a previous interview with Total Film, Heny Cavill, who stars as Superman expressed his admiration to the 42-year-old actor.

"I'm sure he'll be fantastic above all else," Cavill said.

"And as a filmmaker, he's got his own style, you know. He's not copying anyone else. And he's also sort of being tenacious in his career. He's had ups followed by downs and now he's very up again, and I think that requires and shows a very special strength of character. And it's something which I enjoy working with because jobs like this require strength of character, they require a dedication to the work and belief in oneself. And Ben has that, clearly."
